Iwo Jima

    Hello again! Today we will be learning about a very important battle called the battle of Iwo Jima and how it was very important to winning against the japenese in WW2. So pretty much the Japenese had the island of Iwo Jima which was very strategic for the americans winning the war.

    The americans created a amphibious landing to go there. Marines landed there and in the photo above, the americans were lifting the american flag into the air close to the end of the battle and after 1 and a half months, the americans secured the island.
